Seadrill chooses IntelliSearch Enterprise Search

SEADRILL, a leading supplier of drilling, well and maintenance services to the oil and gas industry, has chosen IntelliSearch Enterprise Search Platform as their key information access solution.

Seadrill’s ESP project leader, Steffen Myklebust describes the background for deciding on ESP as a key information access strategy: “Our challenge is finding our internal information. Much time is spent on information retrieval, and time is as everyone knows money. We will solve this problem with the Enterprise Search platform from IntelliSearch.

To get a centralized view and simple access to their large amount of information, SEADRILL has entered into a 3-year agreement with IntelliSearch. The Enterprise Search solution will access all type of files and internal systems at Seadrill. It will for example provide a centralized view to all relevant information tied to the oil rig West Alpha. The user will be able to access technical drawings, procedures, invoices, procurement, exception handling, documents, and correspondence and so on.

We are very happy to get SEADRILL as our customer. SEADRILL is in many ways an innovator and early adaptor of technology in the oil & gas industry. This contract illustrates that Enterprise Search adds tremendous business value to the oil & gas industry.
